Tony Khan has been named senior vice president of football technology and analytics for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Khan, son of Jaguars owner Shahid Khan, accepted the position in July, spokesman Dan Edwards said. The Jaguars didn?t announce the new position, only including it in their 2012 media guide.
Shahid Khan alluded to his son?s role in an interview with The Business Journal earlier this year.
?Tony?s got a good analytical mind, and I?m not just saying it as a parent. Objectively, he has a passion for football, good social skills, and he could play a productive role up to his level. There are no crown princes here; he needs to work his way up.
?Where I think he can add value immediately is in analytics and statistical validation of player choices.?
